From a framework
to a Statement.
The CLAIRE Statement is being developed from the published Framework through an evidence-informed international consensus process. This work aims to refine the reporting recommendations and incorporate perspectives from relevant scientific and clinical fields.
The development and reporting of the consensus process will follow relevant methodological guidance, including the EQUATOR Network guidance for reporting guideline developers and the ACCORD guideline for reporting consensus-based methods.
Development pathway
Planned methodological stages / 01—09Assess the need for a new or complementary guideline and map potentially overlapping guidelines.
Formally register the initiative and publish the development protocol.
Conduct a structured review of available evidence.
Generate and refine the initial list of candidate reporting items.
Consult international and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Conduct an international Delphi process with predefined consensus criteria.
Address unresolved items through subsequent consensus activities and approve the final recommendations.
Pilot-test the recommendations with intended users.
Assess usability, applicability, inter-rater interpretation and other relevant measurement properties.
This pathway describes the development plan rather than claiming that every stage is complete. Protocols, methodological decisions, stakeholder selection, declarations of interest, consensus thresholds and progress records will be shared as they become available. The future Statement will be a distinct output from the published Framework.
